Annual General Meeting 2025

The Board of Directors of Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association have called an Annual General Meeting of the membership to be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom.

You are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting as a guest of the Board. The current By-laws of the Corporation indicate only Members will be eligible to cast a vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Purpose of the Annual General Meeting

To receive the audited financial statements of the Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association for the year ending December 31, 2024, and to appoint an auditor for the year ending December 31, 2025
To review the current By-laws
Elect directors to the Board

Call for Board Directors!

NACCA is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Board of Directors and assist in achieving our strategic objectives. Ideal candidates should:

Have prior experience on an executive or not-for-profit board
Be strategic thinkers aligned with NACCA’s vision
Exhibit leadership skills
Thrive in a collaborative setting
Feel comfortable with decision-making and delegation
Possess disciplined and creative problem-solving abilities
Bring lived experiences and deep knowledge of intersecting Black experiences
Commit at least 10 hours per month to Board-related responsibilities.

SPECIFIC FOCUS OF EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE SEEKING AT THIS TIME
Sector experience: Board governance, Strategic Planning, Finance, IT/technology sector, Legal and HR.

ABOUT NACCA
The Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association (NACCA) is a recognized organization that provides culturally appropriate mental health education, counselling support, financial literacy training, annual scholarships and community-centred programs for Black youth and families. Our aim is to create spaces that enable them to achieve their utmost potential, guided by the principles of the Nguzo Saba.
