Testimonial

Thank you for the opportunity to work with the Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association this summer. As a young adult pursuing a Bachelor of Business and Society, this position has given me the opportunity to put my academic learning into practical action. I was able to utilize my academic marketing skills to produce a wide range of creatives to help generate promotion for the organization. Due to the great leadership from my managers, Janis and Jerisha, I learned how to develop my sense of empathy through the various projects I was given. They made my appreciation and love for Black artists grow immensely and helped me to step out of my comfort zone to co-lead a Robotic virtual summer camp.

My time with this organization was very eye opening and challenging. It also helped me gain confidence in the work field that I will always cherish. Being a completely new experience for me, Janis and Jerisha offered me a very positive and inclusive environment to grow.

The most meaningful part of the experience was that I worked for an agency that represented who I am in my community.

Thank you for the opportunity.

Sincerely,
Jordan Cangombe
