And while you’re having a great time, you’ll also be helping NACCA continue creating opportunities and supports for Black children, youth and families across York Region.

Meet the Comedians

​Keesha Brownie | Feature Act

Toronto-based comedian Keesha Brownie brings an energetic, observant and infectious style of comedy to every stage she takes.
Drawing from her Jamaican roots and Canadian upbringing, Keesha blends stand-up, theatre, storytelling and music with a fresh perspective and an undeniable ability to connect with audiences. She has performed at clubs, colleges, festivals and theatres at home and abroad, earning a reputation for a style that is casual, cool and always keeps audiences on their toes.
With her vibrant personality and love of live performance, Keesha brings the perfect energy to the Stand Up for NACCA stage.

Jean Paul | Headliner

Jean Paul is a Trinidadian-born, Brooklyn-raised comedian and co-host of Breakfast Television whose sharp wit, spontaneity and unmistakable stage presence have taken him around the world.

He has performed across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, South Africa and the U.K., including legendary venues such as the Apollo in New York, the Comedy Store in London and Place des Arts in Montreal. His festival credits include Just For Laughs and the Halifax and Winnipeg Comedy Festivals, and he has written for and toured with Russell Peters.

A Gemini Award-nominated writer with television and film credits spanning CBC, CTV and the Comedy Network, Jean Paul brings the kind of energy that makes for an unforgettable night of comedy.

​Cedric Newman | MC & Host

Born in Jamaica, raised in Montreal and now based in Toronto, Cedric Newman is a seasoned comedian whose career has taken him to stages across Canada and Europe.
Known for his versatility, infectious energy and natural ability to connect with an audience, Cedric has performed at comedy festivals, corporate events, fundraisers and on radio. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with some of Canada’s biggest names in comedy, including Russell Peters, Shaun Majumder and Gerry Dee.
With his love of making people laugh and his ability to keep a room engaged, Cedric will set the tone and keep the laughs going as MC & Host of Stand Up for NACCA.
