Black-Owned Business.

Ujamaa Black-Owned Marketplace - Feb. 4, 2023

Picture

The Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association in collaboration with the Town of Newmarket would like to alert you to a business opportunity occurring during our February 2023 Black History Month celebrations. We will be once again featuring a Black Owned Business UJAMAA Marketplace. The celebration centers on The Black Family: Source of Perseverance and Resilience.

The Ujamaa Marketplace is a foundation to a social enterprise that is intended to unite the African Canadian community around the goal of economic development through cooperative economics.  The Ujamaa Marketplace aims to support and mentor the next generation of African Canadian business leaders by giving youth and entrepreneurs of African descent the access to resources that they need to successfully build their businesses.

We wish to thank our vendors who participated in previous years of the Ujaama Marketplace and would like to invite your participation in the 2023 Marketplace which will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023 between 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This is located at the Newmarket Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford Street, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 1T1. The marketplace is on the main level of the Town Hall.

Applications are due by end of business day, Friday, January 6, 2023. We ask that you submit all required documentation along with the application below. This aspect is important if your business is to be featured on the Town of Newmarket Liquid Screens.

Please note that each application submission will go through a vetting process based on the applicant's brand, space availability, and application deadline. There is capacity for 22 – 24 vendors and your application will be considered on a first come, first serve basis.  Submit your application to Keisha Wright at  ujamaa@naccacommunity.ca  You will be informed of the acceptance of your application. When informed you shall submit payment by the end of business day Thursday, January 19, 2023. Please see payment details in the application form.

We look forward to hearing from you and helping to make the UJAMAA marketplace a success.
