"I'm grateful that Ethan had the opportunity to participate. As a young Black boy with challenges, his father and I rely on these opportunities to help remind him of his own potential. This experience has inspired Ethan to continue investing in himself and in his many talents. He's spent his evenings since considering his future studies and making preparations! I really couldn't be happier to see him so invested in his own future." – Newmarket Parent

Real Stories from Real People
Our testimonials reflect the heart and soul of NACCA. They showcase the impact of our programs and initiatives on individuals, families, and the broader community. From youth empowerment to personal affirmation, our community members share how NACCA has supported their growth, resilience, and sense of belonging. One community ,member shared:
Last week, I had my first ever counselling session at NACCA and my first ever counselling session with a Black Psychotherapist, Micah. Throughout the years, my sessions were always with Caucasian Psychotherapists which I had to attend to due to an automobile accident that I had. It felt impersonal whereas Micah was welcoming. Although I chose to be virtual, she provided a safe environment where I felt at ease and this allowed me to be vulnerable and open. It was a non-judgmental environment and the rules and expectations were established in the beginning. She demonstrated empathy which allowed me to feel safe. The most important thing about my first session with Micah was that she treated me as a “whole person,” an equal who is not defined by my issues. I felt genuine care and concern from Micah. Thank you Micah and NACCA. I recommend NACCA!” - S.
One parent whose son was enrolled in the Youth School Success Initiative (YSSI) weekly psycho-education program shared:
[...] I saw minimal improvements until I enrolled him in the YSSI program. The program offered him a safe space to talk about his feelings and allowed him to share his opinions within a group setting. It took encouragement and patience from the facilitators but gradually he developed increasing confidence in expressing himself. The program also offered one on one counselling sessions with a certified therapist. I took advantage of this offer which played an integral roll in boosting his self esteem and confidence. I am so proud to say that my son now has friends with whom he spends time with, he shares his thoughts and opinions more freely...Our family greatly appreciates what the YSSI program has offered us, as the program has made a change not only for my son but for our entire family. Thank you." - Parent
Donor Testimonials

Legacy Donors
A special thank you to our legacy donors whose ongoing, multi-year commitments have been crucial in sustaining our long term goals. Their steadfast support enables us to plan and implement programs that make a lasting difference. One of our legacy donors told us:
Going back a few years, increased societal discussion of anti-Black racism and concepts such as institutional racism had led me to realize that racism was still far more prevalent than I understood. I felt a need to do something, particularly as someone who has undoubtedly benefitted from historical racial inequities. However, at the same time, I understood that I was still quite naive about the problem and didn't - and perhaps couldn't - know how best to help. Having learned over time that the most effective way to address problems are typically grassroots initiatives which empower the actual people experiencing the problem to determine and implement solutions, I realized that NACCA could help me to help make a difference. If it hadn't been for NACCA, I'm not sure what other solution I would have found, but I am so glad that it was an option that was available to us. I can't speak to my wife’s journey, but she is very supportive of donating to NACCA. She is particularly drawn to causes that bring opportunity to youth, so I know that aspect of NACCA definitely resonates with her. So, we do indeed see NACCA and are very grateful that it provides an effective way for us to meaningfully help.” - Legacy Donor
